Surprisingly, dalmation puppies have no spots. They are all white, and their spots appear as they grow older. But the dalmation dog is a great choice for experienced dog owners. Dalmation breeds are a little bit strong willed for less experienced dog owners. They need to go to dog obedience classes as puppies.
Dalmation dogs are about 19 to 24 inches in height, and weigh from 45 to 60 pounds. They are classed as non sporting dogs by the American Kennel Club, and are great around horses. Other health problems dalmation dogs are prone to include hip dysplasia, allergies, and deafness.
The only grooming dalmation breeds require is a once weekly brushing. By removing loose hairs this way, you prevent it accumulating on your furniture. Dalmation dogs shed a lot.
