Using Natural Food for Energy Sources

When you think of being healthy as an adult, the natural foods are often considered to be the healthiest. When you feed your dog natural foods, you are trying to replace their natural diet, but most ingredients used today are not naturally found in the wild. Instead, these natural foods are a modification on the original foods found in the wild.  These modified foods can be stored easier and come in longer lasting packaging.

After you have decided to incorporate a natural food diet into your dogs daily routine, it may start to become necessary for you to expand your original notions about protein. Most people think of protein as only coming from beef, but if your dog is going on an all natural diet, you will have to put variety into their protein sources to help keep your dog healthy. Although beef is a great source of protein, it cannot be your dogs only source of food.  Too much protein and not enough other ingredients will make your dog sick.

Some natural foods are better left to your dog and not something you would particularly like to eat. Some varieties of protein that your dog will love include horsemeat, hog livers, and bone meal. These human natural foods are available for your dog to eat and will provide them with a great source of protein.

Although meat is the most common natural protein source for dogs, it does not have to be the only protein source for your dog. Eggs, milk, and plant protein are other great natural proteins that you can add to your dogs diet.

Not all natural foods will provide the highest amounts of energy for your dog, but because they are natural foods, they will provide some energy sources for him. Natural foods have the most amounts of fats and carbohydrates, which are also great sources of primary energy for your dog. When you combine fats, carbohydrates, and protein in your dogs natural diet, you will be able to offer them the highest most efficient energy diet possible.

Corn oil is frequently used as a natural food sources for dogs, it has nine calories per gram and 250 per ounce. If you are able to use corn oil as the only fat in your dogs natural diet, it will give ten times the amount of essential fatty acids for their daily diet. Although corn oil is the best source of natural energy, you can also use other types of vegetable oil like olive oil, peanut oil, soybean oil, and safflower oil.

Using natural food to give your dog the healthiest diet possible is a big undertaking. Although meat proteins are very important to your dogs diet, don’t let them be the only source of protein that your dog gets. Use a variety of proteins, oils, and carbohydrates to ensure a healthy balanced natural diet for your dog.
